Sam Borden: An unforgettable week of fathers and sons, triumph and tragedy

SI.com's Sam Borden wrote a great article on the unforgettable week of fathers and sons in baseball. The article focuses on Christian Lopez, the Yankees fan who caught Derek Jeter's 3000th hit.

So many times we lose sight at what's important in the game of baseball. With players making millions of dollars to play a game, fans have the right to question their motivation. Do they truly love the game? I think Robinson Cano answered that during the Homerun Derby. Cano had a blast just by being involved in the derby, showing the world that you can be paid $15,000,000 per year, but still respect the game for what it is: America's Pastime.
